Renewing? What you Need to Know About How to Train Other Adult Hours.

Is it getting time for your trainer’s credential renewal? Are you wondering about those renewal hours you need to have before expiration?  Are you looking for how to train adult learning hours? 

Here are some tips and reminders regarding those How to Train Adult Hours:

To find courses:

  1. Go to www.ece-tris.eku.edu and click on training information. A search area will show, scroll all the way to the bottom where is says more search options. Go to target audience and click on the How to Train Adults icon.  Scroll to the bottom and click on find training. All the available trainings will populate.

OR

  • Go to www.childcareawareky.org and click on the training tab at the top. Scroll down to the box that says Adult Learning and click there.  You will then go to a course catalog where you can see all the courses available on HDI Learning.  From this website you can register and pay for any courses you are interested in taking.

Important Reminders:

Most of the how to train adult hours have application activities that need to be graded by a facilitator. Grading can take up to three business days and may need follow up.  It is important that you allow enough time for the course to be graded and put into ECE-TRIS so that the completion date is before your credential expiration date. It may take up to 10 days for the course to be recorded into ECE-TRIS.

Also, courses may require participants to go back in to complete a lesson after grading in order to receive credit for the course.  Please read the instructions for each course carefully to make sure that you know what you are required to do once grading has taken place. 

The completion date of the course is recorded as the date it has been entirely completed not the grading date.

****It is recommended that all trainings are completed 30 days prior to expiration date so that there is ample time allowed for grading, follow up and completion. *****

Reminder:  FET 370 Beyond Fundamentals: Introduction to Developing and Facilitating Online Training, is the required course for those trainers that conduct online/virtual courses and does not count toward those how to train adult hours.
