New Salt River Training Coach: Candace Storrer

Candace has spent 28 years helping children by educating adults. She Graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in General Studies. That degree allowed her to focus on her three favorite core areas: Early Childhood Education, Speech, and Public Relations. Candace chose to pursue ECE and parenting as she entered the workforce. Her career path included parent education/family preservation, parent education/childhood emotional development, early childhood curriculum and development, and developmental parenting. Candace is a Level 4 Credentialed Trainer.

Children have always been front and center in Candace’s life. She captured her husband at the young age of twenty and began her family while finishing college. Candace and her husband have enjoyed raising six children from “scratch” and adopting a teenager, bringing that fun number to seven children, 18-28 years old. The house is currently a revolving door of college students, grandbabies, and general intermittent chaos.

There is still free time to dream in Candace’s life. She has been moving steps closer to developing a stand -alone Social and Emotional curriculum for Pre-K that uses animals and therapy dogs. Watching young children struggle with big feelings for most of her career, Candace dreams of bringing some relief, a little laughter, and a lot of fun to the 3–5-year-old children in Kentucky through her efforts.
